Poldark

It’s 1783, and Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner) returns home from the American Revolutionary War to a country in the grip of recession. His beloved Cornwall is on its knees. In his absence, his father has died, his land and mines have gone to ruin and his childhood sweetheart, Elizabeth (Heida Reed) has become engaged to his cousin Francis (Kyle Soller). Feeling betrayed by everything he loves, Ross tries to rebuild his life with a new business venture whilst finding an unlikely new love in Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson). However, he makes a powerful enemy in banker George Warleggan (Jack Farthing). The dramatic and captivating landscape of the Cornish coastline is the perfect backdrop for this rousing historical saga.

Poldark is adapted from Winston Graham’s iconic series by Debbie Horsfield (Sex, Chips & Rock n’ Roll; Cutting It) and directed by both Ed Bazalgette (Endeavour; Ghengis Khan) and William McGregor (Misfits).
